It’s no coincidence that no limo companies offer 10 seater limos. It actually comes down to licensing. It doesn’t just affect limousines either. Phone your local taxi company, and they won’t offer anything bigger than 8 seats. Hire a minibus, and that will most likely have at least 12 seats.

8 passenger vehicles can be licensed with the local authority, like a taxi. However, as soon as you go over this number, you have to comply with bus and coach regulations. The extra costs associated with this are considerable. Did you know any vehicle over 8 seats has to be serviced at least every 10 weeks to comply with regulations? Furthermore, limousines seating more than 8 people must comply with UK minibus regulations, and require between £10,000 and £20,000 of modifications to make them legal in the UK. All this extra effort and cost wouldn’t be viable for just 2 extra seats.
